I have a "43" H, not running at present, it's been parked for about 4 years.
It needs raditor hoses, battery 12 vt, and possibly a carb kit if available due to old gas sitting in carb.
when it was running it didn't any oil. no smoke.
I would like to sell it, but really don't know what it's worth, i've been offered 500.00, but seens a little low.
Does anyone have any thoughts. Stumped in Texas.

I bought my 51 for $1200 all painted up pretty as you please, but the rear end was shot. I am almost done putting it back together, but I am afraid to add up 14 new bearings, all the seals and all the gaskets and the one new gear. Not to mention all the electrical stuff I had to rebuild like starter generator, battery, wiring put on right and regulator. After all this I might as well put on all 4 new tires and work it! Might have been cheaper to build a time machine and go back to 51 and buy it new, but it is close to new now! If anyone wants to buy it, they will have to get out the FAT wallet.

If it runs, has good sheet metal and good tires, I'd guess it would be worth around $800. New radiator hoses are cheap and a new battery is also cheap.

$500 for a nonrunning H is a very good price. Most I have seen in that condition go for less then $250. The last 2 I got I payed $150 each for them

Take the $500 Joel. I bought my last couple H's in running order with good tin for $700 each...so $500 seems like a win situation for you.

What do you other guys think?

I would get rid of it for that, unless it had an IH wide front!

glennster, my H projects are taking the back burner to home projects and working for the neighbor.

All I am doing now is scraping dirt & crud whenever I get in there for a short time.

Probably won't work on it much til the weather gets crappy. Will be trying to get cabinets built for the shop in the next couple of weeks and stuff put away so I can have more room third party image

Not too many years ago I bought a non-running H at an auction. That tractor had a brand new set of rear tires on it. I took the new tires and rims off, put on a set of worn out rotten tires, and sold the H for $250. Still not running. Does that help?

Unless you can get it running $500 is a fair price. The person buying it has no way of knowing what kind of shape the engine or drivetrain is in without having it running.

If you want more out of the H, you need to get it running.

good running h in decent shape can bring anywhere from 900 on the low side to maybe 1900 or so on the high side. depends on the condition of the tractor and how bad the buyer wants it.
