Okay dumb question I know the M has 2 slots the 560 has 1 will the center castings fit on the M from a 560? I bought a M site unseen yeah not recomended but anyway bought it mostly for parts but the motor dyno'd at 54hp so we are gonna pull in but the tires are junk...so now I had a thought while sitting here maybe the 560 tires could go in it if i could use the casting dunno....

The axels are the same diameter. You have to use the entire cast wheel assembly off of the 560.

I'm a bit confused about where you are headed with the center casting swap and tires, rims, etc.

For what it is worth, I bought a set of Power Adjust wheels and rims with excellent condition chloride filled tires last winter that reportedly were from a 560. They had only the single key but were for a 2.75 inch axle just like my M. They bolted right up to the M.

The hardest it works anymore is with an eight foot blade and a nine foot disc. If the single key way held up to the 560's hp it should continue to do so on the old M.

Sure can,the 560 wheels are probably cast # 363014 R4 or R5. May interest you to know that in 1956 IH released a service package with that type wheel and rims for use on M,SM.SMTA and 400 with serial # 501 to 5180 tractors. Reason given to meet sales demand for a wheel with improved hub to axle mounting and to provide a easier means of tread adjustment by use of double beaded rim construction.
