Touch control temperature range??????????

Does anyone know?????

I'm hunting for a generic back-lit guage with similar range.

By the way..... ..do you guys notice what the sweep is like from cold to warm up? Why is there a temp guage in the hydraulics anyway?????

When the system gets to hot it will quit working. As soon as it cools it works again. I have had mine to quit many times during real hot weather with the mowing machine. This only occurs when mowing in tight places and lifting the bar very often. I have never had this happen with any other implement on it. It will get hot enough to boil oil. So I would say that a working gauge may enable a feller to stop before it gets this hot.

According to an original IH manual, to warn of possible high temperature damage to the hydraulic pump & seals in case the lift is blocked by something, such an an implement striking the bottom of the tractor before reaching the position called for by the control lever setting. This would cause the pump to run continuously at maximum pressure and overheat, according to IH.

On my SA the first 3/4 of the gauge is 'Run' and the upper fourth is labeled 'Hot'. I've never seen it move, so it's either defective or has never been very warm. The pump sound is quite obvious when it's working at high pressure.

From ambient to near 300 degrees. The original may just have had a red zone. JimN
