i am putting a new clutch in on a 2400a (same as 454 Ag). Should i put grease on the face of the new throwout bearing where it contacts the PP fingers?

Hi, there should be a spring on the clutch pedal to hold the clutch pedal up so the throwout bearing doesn't contact the PP fingers when the clutch is released. The spring is probably broken or missing. It connects to a support under the batter box and then to a hole in the clutch pedal mechanism.

No.

That part of the bearing is meant to to turn with the clutch, and not turn independently from the clutch. So ONLY grease the bearing where there's a grease fitting. If there's none, don't add grease. BECAUSE...you don't want to risk any flying grease [send out by centrifugal force] getting between the clutch disc and the pressure plate.

At least that's how I see it.

Nope the beraing should free spin so it spins when you push the clutch down
