I was mowing weeds with my cub today and it was working fine and when I went to push the clutch in it went down and didnt come up . I looked in the hole underneath the linkage was hooked up I can move the pedal up and down but it will not go in gear I guess either the clutch is out or it needs adjustment .there is a lot of threads left on the rod any ideas?

Sounds like you may have broken the throwout bearing. The throwout is a composite. Do you have about 5/16 of black material on the front side of the metal retainer of the throwout? The proper adjustment is to have 1/8 clearance between the bearing and the clutch fingers. You said the clutch pedal stayed down, does it have the return spring under the floorpan? Is the bearing free on the shaft?

it does have a spring but it needs to be replaced .it would make sense about the bearing . when I get time to look at it more I will probabally tear it apart which it dont look too hard.

Which Cub do you have? Newer models use a different clutch than the regular Cub.
