hydraulics 454 International gas tractor

The dipstick on the left side of the tractor down by your left foot is all worn off for some reason and you cant tell when it says full.

My main question.....is if the reservoir should be full of oil, Ive had people tell me oh no, that would be way too much.....so Im asking somebody here that knows.

Why would the reservoir be that big if they didnt want you to fill it.

Does anyone know how many gallons it should hold?

I think it was low on oil and added some and the 3 pt. came up and down a lot better after I did that....but its still not working perfectly and Im wondering if it just needs more oil

My 2500 you have to open a BIG plug on the top of tranny, fill to 7 1/2" of the top and then its right. Then check the rear reserves and fill them (at backhoe). Then run all the pistons full out for a few minutes, (fornt end loader too) then recheck all 3 spots. heh no dipstick luxery here.

Like mine you must find out how far from top it should be and if there are other areas the fluid is held in.

Draining mine today- 4 drain plugs under it, 2 at backhoe. Hopefully thats it! haha.
