The next chapter of the Tractor Soap Opera: Is there hope ahead? I joined my chapter of IHC back in April. They know I've been looking for an H, and I've gotten lots of encouragement from them. But they also know I'm broke. So, last month I got an e-mail from one of the IHC members. He is moving his tractors into a new shop and his '42 H just isn't going to fit. He doesn't want it to sit outside and turn to junk, so he wants a new home for it. That's great, but I'm broke. Well, last night he e-mailed me again and told me it's crunch time, and that the tractor has to go. The price: Free to me with one condition: I bring it to the big antique tractor show in April and he gets to drive it, once I have it running and pretty again.
Wife says: "We have no money, and we have no room for a tractor!" Which is true. I did finally get the garage straightened out, but with all the family bikes, I need to find a way to squeeze it in the 3rd car spot. But where there is a will... I'll make it happen. As far as money, yes, we are broke, and a tractor is low on the priority list. But hey, starting with a free tractor puts me ahead of the game, right? So what is the downside to all this? What am I missing? Or am I worrying too much, should stop blubbering and should go pick up this '42 right away?
