I have a '43 H that has been converted to 12v. The ignition switch is an on/off switch that has been put where the light switch usually resides. I would like to get my lights functional. Does anyone have a picture of the light/ammeter box and where the correct placement of this on/off toggle so I can go back to what it used to look like? Thanks

There is a illustration of H engine controls including amp meter and ignition switch in Case/IH parts catalog under Farmall H >>Chassis>>Chassis 096 Engine controls. there were some variations from year to year but illustration is close to real world. Illustration shows both Liftall contrl arm and mounting plate and in real world think you will find or the other not both.

The on-off switch on my 42 H is in the little hole below a ammeter box

Jim good picture, looks like a stage 2 SH box. I think a 43 model only had a amp meter and light switch opening located in the box cover. On off switch mounted in hydraulic control rod support, or if no hydraulics switch located in bracket bolted to steering support.

I believe the on-off switch (which is a PUSH-PULL type, not a toggle!!!) is installed in a hole in the bracket that holds the hydraulic rod, down near the base of the steering post. If it doesn't have hydraulics, the switch probably belongs in a plate in the same location.

In the electrical box, it should be the ammeter, light switch, and a fuse, from top to bottom IIRC.

The fuse on the earlier H's was located on the lightswitch.Late H & M and supers were mounted in the cover of the electrical box. ken
