I've got 20 acres and need a tractor to plow a small field and plant sweetcorn and do some other small chores. I do not like offset tractors. What should I get for the job?

They knew I would. I am going with JimN on this one. For small acreage and growing corn the Super C can't be beat for the money. Your corn will need cultivating and the Super C is top notch for this. It will plow corn waist high. They will pull 2 bottom plow 7 foot disk and 6 or 7 foot mower. They are also easy on gas, and easy to operate. The offsets that you don't like are also unsurpassed in the row crop garden type work. When I was a kid we took care of more than 500 acres with two of these little tractors and got along quite well.

like the other fellas said, something in that 30 HP area. PTO and a 3-point hitch are the way to go in my book. The TA is optional but it comes in handy for me plowing hills.

Theres a good many that would fit your bill. Also are you looking just for reds one or are you open to all brands?? You will most likely want something in the 25-40HP range.

In the order I would try to find one, it would be:

Super C with a fast hitch

A 200 series FH

A 340 330 U

A 300U

A 350U

A 300 farmall

A 350 farmall

All of them would be good.

I prefer those with a live PTO, but I love Super Cs

JimN
