My engine in my 560 gas is soft and wondered what it would take to do the transplant?

Was that 301 used in any tractors?

Gary

The 560 gas (263ci) is rated at 65hp. I don't know the HP of the 301, but if it was used in an 806 and 856, HP rating would be around 95HP. The 560's were known for weak rear-ends and with the extra horses the 301 delivers, surely it would destroy the transmisson.

If you were pulling a plow maybe.

But if I'm just pulling the mower which needs PTO not drawbar power it would not tear up the transmission.

Not gonna do it anyway cause of other reasons.

Yea 806 and 856 , As for going in yea it will BUT you will have to swap out the Ft. covers and the rear plate and pan and oil pump pick up then ya will have to get seirous with the dist and carb and for all that work and messen around ya might as well just stuff a kit in the 560 motor and ya ain't tryen to make something work like down below in the other thread . Them Seal Power and Clevit kits are ok and not a bunch of pocket change , But the down side with them is that they are made for the A-B class holes and if ya have a block that is all A-B holes your good to go if ya got C-D holes then ya have a WEEEeee bit of a problem . Now the last time i was talken to the warehouse that i was getting my engine kits from the one gril that i delt with was tellen me that they could now get the oversized sleeves for the C-D bore class. Just had to special order them .

Thanks T V.

Saves me time tryin to get that 301 running to see if would be an OK engine.

One of those deals where it ran good when they parked it 9 years ago.

715 combine motor 301 was rated at around 125hp--and required premium gas, look in any 715 combine operator manuel to find out.

Where did you see 125 Hp?

I think it is closer to 82 HP than 125.

Heck the 815 didn't even have 125 HP.

The 815 only had about 115 hp.
