Did you disturb the valvetrain in any way? It almost sounds like it is loosing compression that's why it won't fire off.

Are you getting any smoke out of it? If you do not have smoke you are not getting any fuel delivery. Did you just replace the crank or did you have more apart?

If you are sure you have all the timing marks lined up in the gear train the only other thing is the drive lug on the injection pump drive shaft. Looking at the back end of the shaft there is a dimple toward one side. There is also a matching dimple inside the pump where the shaft mates up. Both dimples must be on the same side or the pump will be 180 degress off. A lot of engines will run 180 degrees off but there ill be a lot of smoke and very little power.

Two more questions. Did it start OK before the cranks kit? Are you sure the glow plugs are working?

Yes it will start, maybe only by pulling it. They will start ,but will not have any power. It does sound like it could be 180 out, or the glow plugs are not working
