Polarize gen. (H)

My H manual say to make sure the H is positive ground before polarizing. It isnt positive ground. Do I need to do something different to polarize?

Check the regulator as sometimes they will say either pos or neg ground most replacements are labeled pos ground for the 6v systems

Your tractor left the factory (+) ground.

It will function equally well with either ground polarity, so long as the coil (assuming battery ignition) is properly connected.

Set the battery polarity up the way you want it, then polarize the generator. The procedure is the same for either (+) or (-) ground... momentarily short the "BATT" and "ARM" terminals together at the regulator.

The point of the instructions is to be SURE the battery polarity is set up the way you want it BEFORE polarizing the generator OR starting the engine.

Its fine the way it is. I will polarize it as it sits. I just wasnt sure if I needed to do it different due to the negative ground. You answered my question quite well. Thank you.

Personally, I set up all my stuff (-) ground.

I know the "correct police" would be offended, but (+) ground is so rare these days people that might want to charge or jump-start a piece of equipment probably wouldn't even be aware to look out for (+) ground when connecting the cables.

Since there are no "purists" around my place, I feel there's less chance of error keeping everything (-) ground.

My thoughts exactly. I dont see it as any different than the aftermarket three point I put on.
