I have a 1951 C that I have rewired minus the light switch and lights. I can not get the system to charge. I am using the orignal 6 volt generator and it has been checked by a local auto shop and they say it works great and I have installed a new voltage regulator and the ammeter works. I either need someone to tell me where I can find a wiring diagram or someone that can give me some pretty specific details on how the C should be wired. I am sure I am missing something simple but I am not sure what I am frustrated at this point.

Take a look at Bob M's generator/regulator troubleshooting guide. He has covered this very well. Hal

Have you polrized the generator? May be as simple as that.

Engine still, not running. Just touch a jumper between the BAT and GEN terminals on your regulator. Yu should get a small spark, nothing impressive, and the generator will be polarized. If no spark or no charge showing on the ammeter when you're done, you'll have other problems. Try it and let us know how you made out.
