Howdy Boys:
If you switch over to the Modern View on this forum - and you don't like it - can you switch back over to the old view?

I'm done with it now. It now says I have tried to log on more than 5 times and must wait 30 minutes before trying again. I don't have these problems here.

I submit to you that a regular "modern" forum doesn't have hte problems this one has. The reason being is because extensive work has gone into making these two very different software types work together.
Look at what happened this weekend. The old software crashed. The modern software dumped with it. But it was the moden view that took the hit because it had to synchronize with the old stuff, not the other way around.
There are several features not available that would be well used in here. Registration and sign up seems to be affected. I had no personal problem, but it seems other, like yourself, are. Someone using Classic can't see your posted e-mail. You can't hit "reply" like normal because it doesn't sync with the classic view. (Classic view submits posts with oldest at the bottom. Modern is newest at the bottom). The Private Message system is disabled. Signature and Avatar picutres are disabled.
My only point is that if they swapped to Modern and dumped the Classic, then a lot of these problems wouldn't exist. But many have threatened that they will not use the forums if they switch, so the Admin have done a great job in compromising.
I would say continue to try to get involved with Modern View and ask for help if needed. I'll do all I can to help you guys out, as you have always done what you can to help me out!

Mike

Dave, I never heard of it being as dark as Dick's hatband before. I have heard about being as tight as Dick's hatband.

George, that was in reference to Mike CA's post about falling off a horse and try to stitch in time. Pun intended. David.

Any post on either is supposed to show up on the other. Also your password and email has to be exact. Upper and lower case specific. I was trying to use a capital in the password. As soon as I typed in the lower case letter (No capitals in mine) I was in. Use yours, well, like it is. David.

I know, ol' buddy, and I feel the same way as you. However, I see from time to time, a posting which indicates I'm not getting the entire message on the old forum. I have gotten use to the old one and I like it. I don't want to change, but as they say in auto racing: "If you're not trying something new, you're running last year's equipment."
I'll probably be back to the old one.
Your buddy,
mike

That sounds like a quitters attitude. Try something once, don't get it right, and quit.

If at first you fall off the horse, try try to stich in time...

or something like that.

Can you explain to me in detail what you have tried and what happened?

Maybe I can help.

After you pass 40 those horses are a lot harder to contend with. I have had broken ribs, concusions and lots of banged up parts before I wised up.

Why get on a horse in the first place! Especially if you have a Farmall to ride on!
