IH 240 utility. Only has the hydraulic for the 3 pt hitch with draft feature and quick hitch. Looked in the manual to make hitch float (one way cyclinder) for bush hogging. Manual shows screw below fuel tank & not there. How do I make the cylinder one way so as not to force bush hog or blade into the ground & try to lift the tractor? I could take pictures of various parts.
Thanks,

If it has the external lift cylinder like on a Fast hitch changing to one way will NOT make it float. There is a pin on the bottom of cylinder mout that needs to be removed to do this. Need to see that pic to be sure. If it is like this I have a pic of the pin position I could send you if you email me.

I don't think you can make the lift cylinder act as a one-way. Look in the area at the bottom end of the cylinder. You should find some linkage there with a pin that can be removed to allow the hitch to float. Also, the bottom of the left lift link has a pin and a "block" that can be repositioned to allow some independent floating of one side.
This info is based on a two point hitch with Tele-Depth.
Go to www.caseih.com and follow "Search for Parts" there you can find the parts breakdown for the tractor. It may help to see how it works.
