I have a 1960 International B-275 that is a 35 hp diesel,it ran very well until July 2007.I began having a leak from what I thought was the fuel bowl.I played with it and tried to clean and tighten everything however I have been unable to get it started since.Im not sure if I have a major problem or if Im just not mechanically inclined to fix this myself.I have a working Christmas tree farm and must use this tractor to mow.If I sell this tractor as is ,How much is it worth. GREG

Is the leak from the glass bowl under the fuel filter OR the metal bowl under the fuel tank?

Sometimes the steel fuel lines get a very small crack and start to leak. Have to replace line.
If you are taking the lines apart be careful not to lose brass washers at banjo fittings.

Not starting you will have to bleed fuel system probably all the way to the injection pump and maybe even loosen an injector line.

Good Luck

Hi Greg, many years ago had a B414 Diesel do the same thing and it was leaking around the joint between metal bowl and tank. IH replaced tank no charge but we had to do the labour. Have to remove steering wheel to remove fuel tank.

Also have had a small crack in fuel line at the joint where the steel line goes into the banjo fitting on the side of that metal bowl. It is a real pain to remove that banjo fitting. If your tractor has the original British banjo fittings the nut size is 17/32 of an inch. 1/2 inch wrench to small and 9/16 inch to big. Later models had 9/16 inch nuts. Don't forget the brass washers for the banjo fitting.

Good luck
JimB

Air was sucked into the fuel system was my first thought. Start at the filter or filters and work to the injectors getting ALL the air out. Sometimes you have to do this twice??? at least I have. As Jim said, fix the leak first. David.

I imagine you have air in the injection system. TO get it out, you will need to bleed everything from the tank to the injectors. I do not have knowledge of that tractor so a manual, or someone else needs to assist on that. THe leaking bowl probably allowed air to get in. Not a tragedy, just a difficult effort required task. The fuel leak needs to be fixed first, or it will do it again. JimN

I rebuilt one years ago. You will need the manuel to bleed it in sequence or it will not get the air out. Fix the leak first.
