I just bought a two way hydraulic valve on my honeymoon in Iowa! Thats right, we were at the state fair and I was asking where the junkyards were on the way from Des Moines to Wisconsin! And she approved!
I got a valve for $30 which seems like a deal compared to eBay. I havent had it apart yet so I dont know all the problems, but one main one is the handle is pretty sloppy. I also dont want to get it on and have it leak. Is there a rebuild kit available for these?
Also, I always thought my SMTA with live hyd was still only single acting. When I called my stealership they said why would you need that on an SMTA bc it is dual acting already. Everything is plugged on my tractor so I dont really know how many hoses were supposed to come off the tractor.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Your dealer is wrong unless it has a double acting valve on it. Live and double acting are two different things. It will operate double acting valves, but so will the old beely pump.

George is right. You can lock the SMTA lever in its rear position and pipe the output into a IH Christmas Tree valve or aftermarket valve.

The OO series was the first to use double acting valves as standard in the big tractors. In the small tractors, I think the Cub was first in 1947.
