How much output should they hydraulics on a 450 have? I hooked one up to a 21 ft 280 today just to see if the hydraulics would work. It would not pick up the disc. Going in the other direction it would not pick the wheels up off the ground. It would move the cylinder, just wouldn't handle any weight. Also, what is the location of the dipstick to check the hydraulic fluid and where is the filter? I just haven't looked and it's already dark here today. Thanks for any info

Hydraulic check is a square plug on the right side of the hydraulic box. Screen is at bottom of the hydr. box with 4 5/16 bolts holding it in. Maybe 3/8 on the bolts. If the Hy-tran hasn't been changed in a while, the screen could be collapsed. Ours ran 1500 lbs on a new pump, & 1200 on an aged one. That's a lot of disc to lift. By the bye--- how big is your cylinder? Should be 4" or more.

Hi pressure should be between 1200 and 1500 psi. 12 GPM flow. It should lift that disk, but won't pull it.

That's one thing I haven't checked is to see if the valves are set for double or single action.

Did you check to see if the control is set for one way only? If it is set that way, you can reverse the hoses and it should lift it.
A friend has a SMTA and he had 850 if I remember correctly. I believe your pump is about the same.
Maybe as high as 1250, but not positive.
