I just bought a Hydro 70 Saturday at an estate sale. Thanks to those who answered my horsepower questions. Next question : while I've had 656 and 826 hydros in the past, this is my first acquaintence with the 70. I bought it with a 2-point hitch and have found that the 2 point is spung about 6 inches wider than it should be. In seeking to fix this problem I've aslo discovered that 70s were never built with 2 point hitches. The line setting ticket which was supplied to me at the sale also says the tractor was built with a 3 point. I'm guessing that the deceased farmer switched it out with some other tractor at some point. Does this sound like an apt conclusion? I can probably get the necessary parts to convert it back for around $700.00 used at Abilene Machine. Does anybody know a cheaper place? AM says there is no value in my 2 point parts. Is that correct? Thanks!

Thanks guys! I went to my CIH dealer and priced out what I'd need. Shocker! They wanted 2/3 of what I paid for the tractor and loader for the parts I thought I needed to convert back to 3 point and the left lower main lift link is NLS. Think I'm headed to Abilene!!!!! Thanks again.

The people at AM are right used 2 points aren't worth very much the most i've seen one go for is $20. yes. 70's can be converted back to a 3 point just go to any case IH dealer.
Good Luck, Tyler Fortney

Yeah,

Think I had to give something like $850 for all the used parts for mine.

The tension bar, rockshaft and the controls were all there. Just no 3-point. :>(
