A few photos from the smallest old tractor show held here every summer.

The event is part of the summer childrens' program at our local public library. (4) antique tractors join several pieces of town DPW equipment and a fire truck on display for kids to see and sit on. The whole show lasts only 2 hours(!)

Despite a steady drizzle plenty of kids turned out. Somewhat surprisingly the old tractors received more attention than the fire and DPW equipment...

Bob M, I have been noticing your great photo skills and I appreciate them. Thanks for sharing this event w/us. Things are just as they should be: John Deere grader, red fire truck and 'kids' of all ages enjoying tractors.

Bob: Ah, but it's so great to see young kids enjoy those old tractors. When we ran our vegetable market, Super A usually sat outside hitched to a trailer load of corn. Many a kid enjoyed that tractor seat while mum was shopping, or maybe I should say while Marg. and mum were socializing. Mums were never proded by that old saying, "Mom when are we going." All hell would break loose if certain shoppers showed up when tractor was off getting another load of corn.

Thanks for the photos, it brings back a lot of memories. We're moving 7 miles Sept. 7th, have a request from a 35 year old daughter in law who wants to drive the tractors. I advised her she may have to take a 16 month old nephew, kind of a co pilot. So far it's "tacker", however that is one of his first words.

Looks like a lot of fun, Bob! Is that an MTA and an A? MTA is my personal favorite letter series tractor but the little ones are fun to work on. I see we have a few Farmalls at the Michigan State Fair again this year. They drive them in the fairground parade. I want to wander over to the guy and see if maybe we could take the B next year.

Dave - That's a '53 Super M - it's half of my Farmall fleet (the other is a Super H). The other red tractor at this event was a '53 Super A belonging to my neighbor across the street.

Don't be bashful. I can't imagine anybody running a show who wouldnt welcome another tractor. Some require/request that you sign up in advance, which would mean staying in touch or getting on their mailing list. That doesn't mean they wouldn't find a way to accommodate somebody that just showed up.

I have to go back today. The youth exhibits are closing and all of it needs to come home. I will try to catch the guy after one of the parades and talk to him. The B is shaping up to be pretty cute for a working tractor, I suspect they would like to have it. Still working on that gas line, though...but at least currently I have a couple of ideas.

What is this "rain" you speak of? It looks wet and miserable! I'm glad we don't have that sort of thing out here!

Thanks for the pictures. Seems like a great idea and I think there are a couple of new converts there.
