I went to a guy's place who told me he had a narrow front from a combine that would fit an H. He did. It has the adjustable casts, but the side with the rim is seized. He said they go for $100, so he thought $50 was fair. I told him I'm going to think about it, but I think I'm going to pass and keep looking.
Who knew NF's would be such a pain to find.

On a good note, he reached into a bin and pulled out this light bar with lights to go after something else. I said I needed one and asked him how much. He told me to take it. So I did.

The real good part is that this guy runs a tractor restoration business. So he has the paint eqipment and sand blaster, etc. So I could repaint the whole tractor when I'm ready! third party image

I'm not sure of anything. I just tried to turn it. I'm applying my lessons in patience to this. It's available if I need it. It has sat at his place for years, so it can sit for a while longer while I exhaust other options. There is a tractor junk yard south of me and north of me that I can call and check. Plus I'm putting the feelers out in my IHC as well.
As far as shipping, I lifted that thing yesterday. It was probably close to 100 pounds! It scares me to think what shipping would run! third party image

I bet that finding parts in CA is more fun than here in middle america ! Those front ends at my local salvage yard are just as plentiful as rotten rear tires are ! Shipping would be a killer though for what they weigh . Are you sure that it's seized and doesn't just have a heap of old dry grease in it ? A seized bearing shouldn't be to hard to fix unless it spun on the spindle . Did you pull the hub cap to see inside ? Just guessing here . Old parts like this are worth more as scrap than they are as used parts anymore so get them while you can because the unscrupeless(SP) money grubing junkers care more about turning a small profit than they do about the availability of parts . A side note - Last weekend at a auction I saw two front mounted , well painted and nicely kept cultivators for a JD60 get cut up for $60 each because there weren't any collectors there . It was a shame . The auction was for a retired farmer and he had tears in his eyes when he found out that at least a third of the buyers there were junkers . His world went to scrap . Good , well kept but too small of farm equipment . The way of the world today I guess . Good luck ! ...Randy

I have a column for sale like that one without hubs or bearings. It has good bearing surfaces and good threads. Casting number is IHC 6719DC. Would like $30.00 plus accual shipping costs.

Mike, maybe I didnt read it all.....but you might want to go ahead and buy that narrow front pedastal from the guy. He runs a "tractor restoration business", right? Might just be a kinda handy feller to have on your side, and buying something from him to go along with your freebee just might be a worthwhile investment. It'd dang sure make him remember you the next time he gets any H parts in....
