I know of a chap who has a SWD9 running at 1750 to 1800. He cheated a bit though. What he did was take an engine from a TD9-91 which has a counterbalancer for the crank. The 91 normally runs at 1650 I believe, so he has it rev'd up a bit over spec. He still uses the origional injection pump though but has it turned up a bit too. It sure pulls good and man does it ever smoke when it gets to serious pulling.

The IH type A single plunger injection pump is the same for the 6's, 9's and 14's except for the plunger which is larger for each model. The drive gear needs to be changed to suit the application but the pump body will fit on either model. There is also a difference in the scavange/transfer pump depending on the year of mfg.

That's about all the help I can be.

I'm interested too. What does it take to get some more power at 10 percent over stock RPM? It looks to me freeing up the intake breathing would be the first place to start. Does an injector pump off a TD14 bolt on to a WD9/SWD9? Tell us more.
