I took the Behlen unit off of one 400 to put on another one. The parts tractor had a fitting that came out of the cast iron block on the left side of the dash. The one I have doesn"t have the place for the fitting. Can I install that by drilling a hole and tapping it? Can I just hook it up to one of the Hyd quadrants and run it that way? I could lock out the handle so it would pump continually. What do you think. Thanks, Ricky

Could you swap the hydraulic control unit from the other tractor too? It is heavy. That is what I did with mine. The supply line hooked in to the unit from the bottom and not the side.

The manual will show the extra pieces you need in the control unit to get the P/S to work. I don't know if they came in all the units.

If the other tractor isn't going to have P/S any more, then if will not need those parts either.

Not real sure what you are talking about, but the pressure regulator valve must have the flow control valve from the other tractor to work, unless your tractor already has one. Likely it does not if it came without power steering from factory. All I ever seen have a plug on the side of the regulator valve block for this. If it doesn't have the flow control valve it won't work anyhow.
