One thing I have had good luck with to unfree stuck rings from sitting is Sea Foam. You could put 5 gallon of gas in the gas tank, add a whole can of Sea Foam to that, then take another can, put it in a squirt can, take off the intake tube, start tractor, let it warm up a little, 5-10 minutes to get heat in engine, run at about 1000 rpm or so, the start pumping the Sea Foam into the carb throat with the squirt can, and do it fast, put enough into the carb throat to flood and kill the engine. Let it sit for 3-4 hours or more, start, run engine, then go out and use it. If it is going to straighten out and run right without and overhaul, this should do it. What you describe is rings stuck in piston from sitting, and needs the carbon softened up so it can blow out, As Allan said, that thing is over 50-60 years old, and if it is original, it may be time for a rebuild. But, try the Sea Foam thing, I have had luck with that on small engine that have sat or have issues with carbon. Jim
