Super A hydraulics seals

I've got oil leaks from the front of my Super A control valves and possibly the pistons.
I'm assuming I need to pull the cylinder head off to remove either the control valves or the pistons. Right? Neither can be pulled from the front of the block?
Is this more difficult to do without removing the hydraulic block from the tractor?
Any recommendations on a source for the seals?
My strainer has a couple of splits. Any idea on a source for those?

Like Hugh says, clean is the word of the day. I soldered up a new strainer screen for one of mine, I may still have some left. Get a manual, take it out and completly down, buy a new bucket of cleaner and do it right, squeaky clean every where, that cover gasket is a dog to get off and lots of air blowing in the passages, no problems again. Plenty of help on this forum if you get stuck. Clean the outside of the best you can before you go in.

David: You can get the complete kit from CaseIH, right around $100. The hydraulic unit must be removed, care must be taken to keep items clean. You also need a good service manual, and follow it to the letter. One more thing, half measures don't work.

Needs to come off to work on it. Makes things a lot easier. Kits are available from IH dealers. Call 1-888-824-0544 and Brad will send you a kit.

I purchased seals and bushings from Brad for
the steering in a super A. One of the seals was wrong. I told him in an Email, and the right one
arrived in the mail very quickly.

Brad Marshall. Marshall's Tractor Parts. Cynthiana, KY. The only place I know where to get Farmall stuff at. We have another dealer, but he is high as a kite with his prices. Not very helpful either if not buying a new tractor or hay baler. Brad only sells parts, and is eager to help.
