I've seen fender extensions quite a bit in pictures. But I looked at the parts manual and don't see them. Are people just making these, are can they be purchased?

On the later H's and M's sold here in Michigan those extensions and riser bushings pictured were what the factory funished with each new tractor. Fenders were required on new tractors sold here in Michigan at the time frame of the 30's, 40's and 50's and we got used to them and it was felt by all the "better" tractor users that they were well worth the trouble. You could still use them on most mounted equipment except corn pickers, but it was a little trouble working around them while mounting integral equipment or remounting them after the equipment was mounted. Because of the several threaded holes in the tops of the axle housings and the several bolt holes in the extensions you can mount the fenders in several positions.

My H doesn"t have spacers or extensions. I acually am glad it doesn"t have the extensions because I almost got tossed off the tractor sideways going up a steep hill and running over a small round limb. Wheel spun and tossed the log out and then the other side went up on the other end of the log and the tractor pitched hard. Log was only 3 inches in dia. I was glad the fenders were in close, but it is a pain to get on and off to hook up chains.

I agree...Steel Wheel gives good service. I got fenders and extensions from there for an H.

The spacers shoudn't be needed on the H. The M sits higher and the spacers can be used. The off sets (sometimes called extensions)are nice as they allow room to get up and down. Mike at Steel Wheel ranch is a good man to deal with and his son is in Iraq so they are good people. Prices are fair. Deals squarely. Spacer can be cut fron a piece of black pir (1" or 1 1/4") found at most hardware stores/

My brother made mine for me. He works in a machine shop. They had a peice of stainless stock that was like 1" OD and 1/2" ID so he just cut me up some scrap peices for the spacers. The extensions he made from using old one we found in a barn, not knowing what it was of course for several years. I have bought several things from Mike, you cant go wrong with him!

Mike,

I got mine for my H from Steel Wheel Ranch in Kansas. Mike Bunck runs the place and he has just about anything you might want for your H - gaskets, bearings (new and used), sheet metal, etc. You can check "em out at website the same as above, just take out the spaces. Larry
