Just read an article in the Missouri Ruralist mag. where Michelin of North America will no longer manufacture bias ply tires under the B. F. Goodrich name. ( which they own)

According to the article, 70% of the farm market is still using bias ply tires, but that market is being filled by tires manufactured in China and Eastern Europe.

B.F. Goodrich has been reducing their inventory of bias ply tires for the past three years.

B. F. Goodrich will still be produced but only radial tires in the 100 to 200 horsepower range.

So what American made brand can I get for my Super H?

Firestone or Titan, which, as I understand, took over Goodyear's farm tire manufacturing. Expect to pay $300+ for rears.

Titan has bought the rights to Goodyear farm tires, but they are still being sold under the Goodyear name, and they're manufactured in the US.

I just bought a set of front and rear Goodyear duratorque 6plys for my H, I saw the ad about titan and goodyear and was kind of wondering about who acually made them. The don"t say made in china so I am happy. If you need tires though, better get them now, I hear they are all going to be a lot higher soon. A lot of companys have been "eating" the higher fuel costs and that is ending.

Wondered the same thing and looked it up: Pirelli bought Armstrong in 1988 and several years later, sold the Armstrong plant in Iowa to Titan.

I still have an Armstrong 12.4x28 on my Ford, bought new at Sears back in the early 80s. At the time it was much cheaper than the same size tire at either Goodyear or Firestone.

I don't know how much they are American made, but a Firestone field and road is an excellent farm tire. I also have a set of Titan's that I like.

I got a set of 36 x 9.5 for my C a few months ago. $300 each mounted with new tubes. Made in India where the rubber business really got started. I am happy with them now but will have to see if they last 60 years like the other ones did. Not that I will be around then. Bought the same brand 30 x 16.9 for my Massey last year and they seem great and I got a pair for less than my neighbor paid for one.
