The manifold looks like a distillate type. They had a heavy casting (heater for the heavy fuel--kerosene or distillate) at the center, just above the carb. Gas manifolds have very little (or maybe no) heating surfaces. The pix doesn't show much, but I think enough to add to the evidence. Your other advisors here know more'n I do--never used a C, but used A's and B's, and they are very similar in engine and accessories.

The C farmall you bought was also a distillate I guess by the fourth hole in the hood. The one gallon tank appears to have been removed and put on your mower. If you look at the pictures carefully you also have radiator shutters that appear to be in good shape. However, the air cleaner has been remove from the air intake on the carb. The fuel line is also bent out. I suspect who ever ran it last had a problem and that why it has not been used in two years. However, you still got a good deal on it and suspect that the small gas tank and radiator shutter would be of some value to the right restorer. Most of the distillates up hear have been stripped of the shutters and small tanks that make them unique. The C farmall is likely the most enjoyable old tractor to drive and is very handy too (if you don't think so you probably don't own one). Its also very easy to work on. Have fun getting it going.

On closer inspection that tank on the mower may be from something else, but I would make sure before discarding it.

not a bad looking tractor at all!!! good find! looking at the weeds around it, doesnt seem like its been sitting too awful long, tires arent sunk in the ground, no trees growing thru it, disk and rotary mower are pretty clear too. pull the spark plugs, and squirt some trans fluid in each cylinder and let it soak a few days to see if she is loose. could be with some fresh fuel and a little tlc she will start right up. where did ya find that at??

That wouls be a C, not a SuperC. If you find the serial number on the toolbox or the engine, the link on the left side of this page will tell you what year.

Dependin' what you want it for and what you're willing to put into it, it ain't in all that bad a shape to my eye. Whether it runs or not would be the big factor, but the tin (except for the grill) and the air cleaner look to be be pretty straight. You'll need a muffler and an oil breather (both easily had) and two new front tires (mebbe rears, too, can't tell).

I'm curious about what that framework around the rear of the tranny cover/seat platform might be for.

I think it is a late 40s, or early 50s Farmall C. It could not be a SC because it has band brakes. Nice tractor, great price, and good find. The creial Number should be on the seat mount on a tag. The engine serial should be the same Number, it is located above the distributor and governor. JimN

The tractor is a "C". They are a good tractor but this one seems to have been abused. You bought it cheap enough it could be sold for salvage abd then look for something better. It wil be costly but entirely possible to repair.
