Made a quick trip over the mountains to go look and hopefully buy two farmalls but got there and they were quite misrepresented. One was MTA and the other a 39 M. So left a low bid on both and pulled my empty trailer back on the rosd. 20 miles down the road I see a model 100 manure spreader setting like its yard art so I pull in and buy it and load it . The guy says I have another old I.H. out back that I got at an auction 3 years ago and have lost interest in getting going. It turns out to be a 1949 OS-4 all original and very nice shape. We put a battery, little bit of gas and it turns over about 6 times and fires off. He had never heard it run so I said drive it on the trailer with the spreader. Now we have a load and I can go home. Got back at 4:30 this morning. slept a little while and then have been power washing and cleaning on the thing. I've never owned any standard tractors but I think I'll keep this thing around. What can you guys tell me about the OS-4 good ar bad? Appears to be a 1949 model distillate model, hand clutch and appears to have the light brackets under the grill on the lower frame ? Kinda fun to drive around. Thanks Migraine

How about some pictures of the spreader you picked up a few months ago. I'd love to see actually pictures of both speaders. I've got a working 100 myself and some day hope to make it look new again.

Thanks for the comeback guys. Yea we are getting a few setting around here now and I'm running out of shed room. Will have to build on or rent some storage space soon. Just can't leave these old I.H. alone and trying to get some implements to show behind thre tractors. Am I correct that the OS-4 did not have the full cowling on it as the O-4 did? And were the rear wheel weights unique to this tractor or fit others? Thanks
