I need to pull my engine for a rebuild - The tractor has a support frame and I need to lift the engine over the top of the frame Its appx 5' high - Ive never had to do this and Im a bit concerned about bending something or pulling a bolt out - Where is the best and safest place to attach the engine hoist ? Im hesitant to use a chain on the manifolds I was thinking of pulling the head and then making a lift plate that bolts somewhere - Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks much, Ed

This is not a heavy engine. Use a couple grade 5 bolts, 3/8 or larger, spaced to balance the weight and go for it. You won't have any trouble.

we pulled many a motor with a plate on manifold after taking off carb on car engines, on tractor we usually take off head and use a head bolt at each end, havent had any trouble that way. be sure and use good bolts not chinese cheap bolts, just be careful
