Thoughts on Narrow front bolster for H

As some of you know, I want to switch the single front end on my H for a dual narrow front end with non-adjustable hubs. I like the look of those hubs the best, so it's what I've decided I want. These front ends are rare in CA to the point where I haven't found one for sale at all that is in any decent condition. I found a broke one, but it was $175. There is one on Ebay where the gentleman is selling both the hubs for $18 a piece. If you pick it up from him he'll throw in the bolster for free.
Item number: 260166261931

Well, I just so happen to know a YT member who will be travelling through that part of the country on his way to California. He offered, half jokingly, to pick up an assembly if I could find one close to his route on I-70. Well gents, let me tell you, this bolster is only 32 miles from I-70.
(This is type of thing where I find it difficult not to believe that God intervenes in my life some times)

I'd like you all to look at that bolster and those hubs and tell me what you think of them? $36 seems like an awfully good price. And if I had to replace all the bearings, I would think it would still be worth it. But I have no idea what I am talking about with these things, so I'm asking the experts for their opinions.

Well, I'm certainly glad it's a YT member selling them. Too bad it's the wrong pedestal, but thank you for telling me. If you find something soon please let me know.

Mike, Those are my hubs for sale. I can tell you that the pedestal is off of an M and will not work on an H. The hubs should work on an older style H pedestal though. Sorry, I should have clarified that in my listing. I can keep my eyes open for one if you would like, along with the others on this forum. Thanks, Andy

It sounds like a good enough deal all right. One thing though that I believe you should verify is the lower bolster. It doesn't look right that the one in the picture has the two cast gussets on the back side at the top. Could this be for a larger or later (think 300 or 350) tractor? If someone else can't jump in and say for sure, I'll check both my '47 and '51 then post back tomorrow.

Looks good to me. Go for it!

You will still need to find rims and purchase tires - have you figured out the cost for those?

And don't forget the 3 clamps for each wheel.

Mike, don't take my word for it exactly, but those hubs look like the same hubs that are used on the W4s. Might be a few of those out there? Of course you still need the pedestal.
