H Carb question

I'm cleaning up my carb for my H and I noticed what looks like a plugged hole, but I'm not sure. If I follow the air intake, at the bottow, right before the angled fuel adjusting screw there is what looks like a washer with a hole in it. Inside on the bottom of the air intake chamber I see a hole that connects to where that washer is. But I can't see between them.
Is it filled with dirt and needs to be cleaned out, or is it supposed to be plugged up? Should I take that area apart to clean it? If so, how do I do that properly?

No, it didn't look like it fit the metering stem. Is that what it's for? I guess I'll break the old one off and open up the new one a bit to squeeze it on.

Thanks

It's back in, and I'll leave it alone.
I put the carb back together loosely to make sure everything went to the right place. I have two round washer gaskets from the gasket kit you sold me that I can't figure out where they go. I put a gasket on the fuel screen nut, and on the metering nozzle clamp nut. The needle valve and seat had it's own gasket, and that went in. I've looked over the blown up drawing and don't see where these last two round gaskets go.

Any ideas?

Mike, there will be an extra gasket for the needle seat, put it in your spare parts collection. The small gasket? Did you install a new gasket on the metering stem before you put it in?

Mike, that is the hole to allow condensation (water) to drain out. There is supposed to be some sort of brass mesh filtering material in there to prevent dirt and dust from getting in. For the way that you will be using your tractor, I would suggest that you just leave that part of it alone. That "washer" can be driven out from inside the carb, but it sometimes can be a real bear to get it to stay put when you put it back in. It won't cause you any problems if you just ignore it.

It's a D-10. I'm assuming it's made of cast iron. I was able to pull the cap (washer) and there was some cloth material up in there. I cleaned it out and put the cloth back in and tapped the cap back in.

What make and model is it?The washer you describe may be an air bleed which is not something to tamper with.Instead use high volume, high pressure air and blow back through the orifice after running carburetor cleaner through it in both directions. The wetter the air the better it will remove (CRUD). Is the BODY and AIR HORN made of cast iron or zinc? CENTAUR
