What would be a good replacement for A E4A magneto?

I seem to remember, from long ago, that there were other mags used by IHC besides the E4A that became so common on the Farmall. I remember also seeing flat-based mags with auto impulse couplings that could be fitted to earlier tractors. I am pretty sure Fairbanks-Morse made such a mag. They look "funny" because they are usually smaller than the original (that is, more the size of the mags on H and M). I think the magnets got better as time went on, and it was possible to get a good spark without having a magnet that reached almost up to the plugs.
I wish I had more details, but maybe somebody out there who deals with these tractors a lot can give you some tips, especially about the FM or other replacement mags. There is no question that the F-4 is a very good magneto, AND that it looks good on an early Farmall, being the right size and all. Good luck with finding a solution.
Farmers didn't used to care about looks much,"as long as she works," but today a restorer is likely to be concerned about appearance as well as utility.

An f-4 from an f-20 should work, but you need the coupler pieces from the f-20 also. This would include the adjustable piece nutted to the governor/magneto drive shaft. I have made a coupler out of aluminum before instead.
