Looked at a decent M today. Has water in the oil. Owner says he changed oil and ran it down the road and back and water was back in the oil. Checked radiator and no oil migrating to it. Any help greatly appreciated,,

Pete

One of three. Head Gasket. Cracked head. Head is warped. ( These may be considered but extremely unlikely. Cracked block internally. Incidently altho its very rare with a head gasket damaged just at the top of the liner water can get forced down past the liner. Basically if theres room for grease to help assembly theres room for water)

For all the longer it takes, pull the head and take a look. M's aren't like AC's. the heads and blocks aren't all that weak. I will bet it is a head gasket.

Could be bad o-rings around the piston sleeves.

Almost all "M" heads are cracked in the combustion chamber down to the valve seat . My 8060 [casting # ] head was repaired in 6 places and still leaked . Anti freeze will kill motor bearings !!!!

I bought a 450 gas head that was fresh and magna fluxed [ no cracks ] . Not all cracked heads leak , there are plenty of people on here that have told that story .

I bought my 450 head thru Waynes Repair.
