Leaves are odd this year, but no more than any other. Swamp maples went first, blood red as usual, but were almost bare before the others started turning and they're taking their time. Summer green trees hanging on right in the midst of those that are doing their usual yellows and reds. Gorgeous all the same. We're on the east side of a ridge and so have a lot of oaks, and they're doing a great job of making a nice gold hue all around. Did I mention that fall is my favorite time of year?
Sounds like you're lined up well for the rear light. Like any 'lectricical item on these things, the ground is important. That red ight is mounted to the reflector by a clip similar to the one that holds the hot stud onto all the teardrop lights, so it will be imoprtant to have all the contact surfaces cleaned up for good electrical contact. If your old switch works, keep it. The repros are a little fussy. They work, but they don't click on the various positions like the old ones And don't get discouraged it it looks like no more than a spot of red light on the lens in the light of day. That Guide lens, in the dark, really picks up that red and spreads it around.
