I have been messing around with my C Farmall and I have a question or two.
The spark plugs are very hard to get a socket on and I was wondering if there was another plug with a smaller hex body. I remember reading here some time ago about another plug. Second I have a 53 Cub as well and it leaks gas everywhere around the cap whenever i fill it up past half way. I have a 3 baffle cap on the C and I switch it back and forth from tractor to tractor. I read about a free gas cap offer from IH. Is that a thing of the past or are they still available?
Thanks.

Free caps are still available. Search the archives for FreeIH gas caps. A link will come up.

that plug has a 3/4 inch hex, and the right threads. Ngk crosses to an Autolite 386, but the autolite has the 7/8 hex.

try and find a thin wall 7/8 th socket to fit in there to get the plugs out. if not get a socket and have it machined down a little thinner. i picked up a socket from farm and fleet, and chucked it up in the lathe and shaved some off. the cheaper sockets machine easier, and you dont want to ruin a snap on or matco socket. check the seal area on you fuel tank and see if its dented, or if the cap fits loose. you may need to bend the tangs a little on the gas cap or add a second gasket. the caps are still available on the internet check the archives for the link.
