Good morning, I want to thank every one for all the help with my questions. I just recently changed all the hydraulic fluid on my 350, replaced all the gaskets on the drive unit and trans. Well since this tractor had been sitting awhile the fluid looked like milk once changed now the rear axles are leaking. any quick fixes?
What am I looking forward to in changing the seals, besides a back ache with taking the wheels off. Do the seals come off easy or are they pressed in, is the a gasket set etc...
Any suggestions would be welcome. Pat

If you work alone, invest in an engine hoist. For safety (those hoists can tip over), remove the rims from the centers. Then the wheels can be removed safely and relatively easily. I believe you can remove the cap and pull or carefully dig the seal out. Just don't score the place where it fits. On the tractors I have done, I also replaced the gasket between the axle housing and the rear end--may not be necessary in your case, but I have never tried to remove one with the axle in place. Gaskets/seals don't come in a set. They can be purchased from your Case-IH dealer, the seals are likely cheaper from a place that specializes in bearings and seals, but the cap seals aren't expensive, anyway.
