A while back I posted a message that I was looking at buying a McCormick Deering 15-30. I went ahead and bought the tractor but am trying to find out what year it is. I see some numbers cast on the block and the frame on the right side of tractor. There's a small rectangular place up higher also that looks like it may have had a tag on it at one time but not now. Is there anyway to determine approximately what year it is?

Parts for this can be obtained from several different sources. New Reproduction fenders can be bought from Robert Lefever in peach bottom Pa. He also makes the small toolbox that sits on the platform as well. If your side curtains are half decent I would try to bring them back to life if possible as they are next to impossible to find for 15-30's. I believe repo fuel tanks can be obtained from Ben Kinsinger in Myersdale Pa. We sent our original tanks to a company near Pittsburgh Pa called Moyers fuel tank renu. They can repair ANY tank no matter WHAT condition it is in when you send it to them. Other tractor parts can be sourced from Rice Equipment in Clarion Pa, they carry gaskets and bearings and seals and the like for 10-20, 15-30 tractors. Tom Underwood from Kansas deals in some of the older N.O.S. parts for IH and has helped us in the past for parts as well. These people have all been a big help to us in restoring our 1926 model 15-30. If you need any of their phone #'s I can get them for you. Congrats on your find, their a neat tractor.

Robert made the fenders, tool box for my 10-20. Absolutly perfect! I wish I knew his number, I moved since then and they are lost in a box somewhere around here.

Guys, give me a day or two to round up the info for all of them as I do not have all of it here at my house. A lot of it is at our farm. I will send you both an email when I get the info.

Thanks

That is the "new 15-30" a 22-36. 1929-1934 manufacture. That pipe is actually the exhaust outlet. Further exam of the water pump will date it closer. I'll check it out.

Ok, thanks again. I just wasn't sure what year but was hoping maybe it was an earlier one. Oh well, this is my first Farmall tractor in the collection so that's fine with me as well.

Actually, it's not a Farmall. It's a McCormick Deering and/or an International Harvester. Farmall refered to the Row Crop tractors with adjustable tread.

Of course you may call it whatever you like. ;>)

The 22-36 is actually my favorite. No slouch there. A guy can do quite a bit with one. Congrats on your purchase. Those side curtains are hard to find, and so is that manifold. A good complete tractor.

Yer talkin my kinda tractor now. Does that 2inch pipe come out of the bottom of the manifold under the carb? If so, that is a 1927 or earlier tractor. The block will have a raised flat area with a useable serial number. Parts are available. Even new fenders. Some pictures would date it close, especially the front hubs. Single nuts on the rear wheels? Round governor?

Russ,

I posted some more pics of the motor on both sides on the photos section. I believe the pipe does come out under the manifold. It does have the single nuts on the rear wheels and not sure about the governor.

Also, the gas tank has pretty much rusted through on the bottom and it's missing the PTO shaft. There's a 2 inch pipe elbow that comes out below the side curtain on the bottom on the left side that has been cracked. Not sure what that's for and if I could get a replacement pipe for it. The fenders are in rough shape and didn't know if anyone is reproducing these or where I could find a good pair? Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts for these items? The good news is I grabbed the crank handle and am able to turn the motor over and looked through the 2 round covers at the bottom of the crank case and the oil is clean looking. No telling though how long it's sat outside in the weather. Thanks again for any help.

You can get replacement fenders for the 10-20 from
thefordsonhouse in MI. They may have them for the
15-30 or can get them. I don't know if there's that much difference with the fenders. You can call them at 906-786-5120 or email them at info@thefordsonhouse.com. Since you have the old fenders your local metal shop can probably fabricate new fenders. I would go talk to them.
I had fan shrouds made at a local metal shop for old garden tractors and it was a carbon copy of the old shroud. Those 10-20 fenders are $295.00
plus $40.00 for crating plus shipping. Hal
That price is for a pair.
