Went to look at a 4 bottom fast hitch plow today that a fellow wants to trade in on a loader that I have on a 450. Complete and all coulters, trail and land guage wheel, and new points and landsides with I.H. cylinder and new hoses. This thing appears to be all original and is GOLD painted. I can read the McCormick and ?X 412 no on the main frame. Were there some of these painted gold as demonstrators or did we get a paint gun for Christmas one year back in the 60's. Is 412 a good valid number for a fast hitch 4 bottom. This completes my collection with the 1, 2, 3, bottom plows already here. What is this thing worth? Help please Thanks Migraine

Yes the 560d my dad bought came with one and the demonstrator seat also. The plow was 5-14s had a triangle sign on the rear by the guage wheel saying golden demonstrator. The plow now is the property of WILSON GATEWOOD in INDIANA.

Yes there were gold painted 412 plows, I think it was in early 59 or late 58. When the 560's first came out farmer testing revealed rear ends were built to lite. After a recall and fix IH kinda reintroduced the 560. Thats when the gold 412 plow was born

migraine, I don't know about demo's, but the 412 is a good plow. Most I have seen lately are going around 100 to 250. I would quess that one might be a little more if it is a demo, and sounds like it is.

It could very well be that it is a demonstrator couldn't tell you if it is your not. I have book and they did paint their implements white and gold along with their tractors too.

Thanks for the replies. I had never seen a gold demo plow in my years of farming. Think I shall try to go make a deal since this thing is in very nice shape and get it ready to go behind one of the 560 tractors I have already. Later Migraine
