Hey guys, Does anyone know where I could pick up a new voltage regulator for my 1951 McCormick W6? I'm re doing the wiring and mine looks questionable so I'm just gonna replace it while the generator is off being rebuilt. Does Napa or another parts store carry them and does anyone have a part nymber for one? thanks to all in advance.

Get the DELCO # from your generator as there are two regs built for replacement if your gen still has the adjustable third brush you need the reg made for that one.

Sorry no part numbers here, but if you have to purchase a more generic substitute Voltage Regulator just get one for a Class A Charging System (what most tractors except for a few Fords are),,,,, ,,,,, ,,, for the correct (6 or 12) voltage, of course,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, and suitable for what your ground is (+ or -),,,,, ,,,,,and then some are 3 terminal (BAT ARM FLD) while others are 4 Terminal (BAT ARM FLD LOAD) BUTTTTT T either one can still be made to work so dont let that be a worry. NOTE this assuems its a full fledged Voltage Regulator as you claim instead of a simple 2 wire Cutout Relay, but if it is that should be even easier to replace with a generic one. THE PROBLEM IS some young punk pimpled teenage kid at a parts house wont have any clue what your talking about as far as the specs above so hopefullyyyyy yyy some IHC knowledgeable gents can give you an exact IHC or Delco etc part number and what it is you have, VR or relay.....

best wishes

John T
