I can't figure out how to get the oil pump out. I got the two bolts out and can't get it out, what am I doing wrong. I can't get the pieces to keep the connecting rods on the crank to bend to get the bolts out. What is the easiest way to get those bent or removed? Thanks

I would think that it would be well oiled already. Just bend the tabs back with a chisel take the 2 bolts loose and tap it with a hammer. It ought to about fall out.

spray some pb blaster on the oil pump housing where it goes in the block, then grab the pump and twist it side to side a little to get it to move. once its loose, it should slide right out. to get the little metal retainers loose from the rod bolts, catch the edge of em with a small chisel and tap it in a little to bend them out a little, then put a socket on the nut and tap down,.it will spread the retainers open and flatten em for ya!!
