Are you by chance using 10w30 oil?

Remove the oil filter, on the block side of the filter housing there is a small hole, pump oil in there until you feel resistance. Your pump is now primed.

There's an allenhead plug on the back left rear side of the block and remove the filter cap and fill the housing with engine oil. You may have a ruin bearing since you have a knock. You may want to drop the oil pan and look at the rod and main bearings. Hal

Pull that small plug mentioned and pump oil in it with a squirt oil can and a bit of rubber hose to make it fit tight in the hole. pump till it feels different. Do not run it till you do this. JimN

Yep...it has lost its prime. Somewhere around the oil filter is a plug that you take out and prime the oil system. I would prime it and get my oil pressure back before I started tearing anything apart.

I seem to have lost my prime as well. Where is that plug?? Or do I have to go to the pharmacy?

C Allis should perk you up, ask Doctor for a sample. Warning, don't take one then go to the Mall! Like being 17 again!
