What is the best and easiest way to fix a dented grill on a Farmall M? Mine isnt just fushed in,they are all dented a little differently. But it is fixable. I just don"t want to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours repaing it. Also, the piece above the radiator and on top of the grill is dented on my tractor. What is the easiest way to straigten that? as long as it is not too high, and as long as it"s close i was thinking bondo would work.

I was going to try a piece of square stock, heat and bend, there I can begin to shape the inside corners evenly across the grill.

Buff and smooth the rod down of course and do this against wet sand surface.

Bump dents out working in a circular pattern from the outside of the dent to the impact mark of the dent, then bondo will take care of any imperfection. The grill bars can be straightened and then using appropriate size pieces of rod ie.1/2, lay a piece of rod in the grill bar and hammer on the rod to bring the grill metal back to shape, you can bend the rod to the correct contour of the grill, a pair of pliers can straighten the edges of the grill bars. Patience is the most important part. I have fixed a couple of H grills that came out looking great and before staring I figured they were junk. Again some bondo can take care of imperfections and will sand out easily, some glazing putty and prime and you should like the results.

Hello Zach: There is a How To Fix Metal DVD or VHS in the YTMag store. $24 You would also be helping this website. Link:http://www.ytmag.com/store/videos/misc.htm

It may pay off in the future on another project as well. agpilot
