Hi. I just finished painting a 706 that fit your same description of the 806. I carefully popped off all the emblems and saved the retaining clips. They are available from dealers, but they were a couple of bucks a piece, so I re-used them (I'm cheap, plus I spent my dollars in other places on the tractor). They were alittle loose when I replaced them, and concerned I would lose the emblems in the field one day, I put a dab of silicone on the back of the emblem around the pin and clip. It works remarkably well. Plus, it can't be seen. My FARMALL sign was also pretty beat up. I painted the black area with a smallish brush lightly dilluted with a thinner to fill in the embossed lines running through the length of the sign. The letters and numbers, I painted white (with a smaller brush). When I was finished painting, I took a piece of VERY fine sand paper on a ridgid backing and lightly sanded over the rasied letters and numbers. It looks quite good. The letters in McCormick were tricky, but alittle patience and it worked. So, the emblems are black background, with white lettering, and silver highlights. It does stand out. Good luck.
