The archives here will cover 99% of the questions not answered in the manual. Search for Disk Brakes and read on. They were used on Very late Hs, all SH, SC, SM, SMTA, 300, 350, 400, 450, and other number series. Though there were different sizes on different tractors, they were just exactly the same design. The info already given about the manual is very important, as is the part diagrams on line. JimN

If you have a Farmall 300, why not order an IH 300 operator's manual. Let me assure you, the braking system is covered, but is also a small portion of items you should know and service regularly.

If you were an old hand Farmall user, you could rebuild Farmall 300 brakes blindfolded. That alone tells me, you need a manual. Just go to top left hand corner of this page and click on tractor manuals. Sure you may find someone with brake diagram scanned, but have you lubricated the distributor as per manual, Have you adjusted clutch and TA as per manual. I can think of a dozen other things. It's far easier for the folks on YT that help other folks, to help those who try to help themselves. Any tractor is just not complete without an operator's manual.

Well put Hugh, That is the very first thing I do with any piece of equipment be it tractors, mower, baler, or whatever. They are a cheap investment that pays big, and saves countless hours of confusion and guessing.
