I recently purchased a 47 M with StanHoist loader, pull behind bush hog, Massey Harris Hay Rake, Sickle bar Mower and 2 bottom Trip Plow. I need to get some details as to how to maintain it, what Manuals to purchase etc. All help is appreciated. Thanks,Pat

Thanks all who responded. I have been greasing every fitting I can find. All implements are function. Tractor fires right off. Already converted to 12V. Don't know what I will do with all this stuff on my small acreage, but for $1500 couldn't pass it up. Thanks again.

If you don"t already have one, get a grease gun and go to town with it. There are a few hidden grease fittings like one or both on the water pump and for the clutch parts and hand crank. Get an operators manual to find all the fittings. Don"t over grease the water pump or clutch pilot bearing, half a pump will do there. there is also a couple plugs on the distributor. Check the rear end grease. And with a loader on it be sure to check and regrease the front wheel bearings as well as the front bolster.

This won't be in any manual but for safety get an overrunning clutch for the PTO if it doesn't already have one.

The Operator's Manual will give you the basics on maintenance and repair. The IH Service Manual will go into more detail on engine repair. The I&T Repair manual is a good all round repair manual. If you are going to do a lot of work, a parts book is really handy too.

You can get the manuals from your local IH dealer, this website (look over in the left column), or binder books dot com.
