Im looking to put a IH loader on a 706. What IH loaders will fit? Want to get the correct size loader for the tractor. Mainly to be used for lifting and moving antique tractor parts and implements off trailer and around shop. Anyone have one for sale. Around NW Indiana? 219-508-6153. Thanks.

Steve,
I will also agree with Gary on the Allied loader. I have a 595 on a J*** D**** 2750. Bought the loader used from a neighbor who had it on a Case 770. He is not the most careful operator but the loader held up well. Well matched to the 75 hp 2750. Will stack 4x4 round bales three high with ease and has enough reach to load a trailer from one side.

I know you ask about IH loaders, but I am with Gary on this one. The Allied is better made than most all the others. They are quite heavy and go on and off the tracor in less than 5 minutes. You can get them in red or any color. I have one on my 666, and it is twice as heavy as my Bush Hog 2400 QT loader. Worse trouble is I saw where the Russians have bought 80% of the stock in Buhler/Allied. The one to fit your tractor would be a 595. They are great loaders.

Get a Miller or a Westenddorf.

I use a Westendorf WL-30 loader on my 656. Its not as heavy as the other loaders already listed, but it works fine for me: I move snow, odd loads like rolls of snow fence or 55 gallon drums, clean out the horse yard, and, like you, to lift implements (2 bottom plow, JD grain drill, tractor parts, engines, etc, etc.).

The others are great choices, but I've never broken a Westendorf, and its plenty heavy enough for most jobs. The WL series loaders will mount on just about any IH/Farmall out there, another reason I like it. The WL-27 is designed for 100 HP tractors, is a low profile type, and would work will on a 706.

The IH 2000 is the classic and period-correct choice for a 706. Of course you need one that came off a large frame '06 or '56 series tractor to get the proper brackets. A 2000 loader will fit on anything from a 240 Utility up to a 1456 Farmall with the right bracketry.

Also look at the IH 2350 mount-o-matic. You need to drill 8 holes in the frame but they are very handy if you plan on removing the loader at all.

Boy I'll tell ya, I really like the looks of that Koyker 510 when it is equipped with the four tine grapple.

Nice light loader that is "built & engineered" correct to give it it's strength. Just a nice sweet outfit.

I've never liked heavy loaders. Just too darned much dead weight to be haulin' around.

Allan I hate to disagree with you cause you are usually right.

But around here every Koyker loader I have seen are all welded up.

Maybe its from abuse but they are the most cracked up loaders I saw at the weld shop.

Dunno,

Sure never owned one. I just thought they looked awfully good.

What's the one you've got? I can never remember the brand of that thing. Good lookin' outfit, however.

Its an Allied loader.

So far it has held up well to 165 hp when its on that 1086.

I've pushed out trees and piled bush with all that tractor can push and no problems yet.

Gary, they are really tough outfits. What model is that one. It looks just exactly like my 495/585, but surely that one is a bit bigger than mine. I have the 585 on a 7610 Ford, and it is a bit heavy for Fords. Got the other on the 666 and it is well matched to it. The 495 is the same loader as my 585, but has a shorter mounting post. I need to switch them around. The 585 sits up 5 inches above the hood of that 7610, but would be just right on the 666. That is why I bought the 495 so I could put it on the Ford and have sit below the hood. I too have grubbed many trees with both of mine. I use them like a small dozer. Will lift the back end of tractor off the ground. That Bush Hog or the JD I had won't.

Steve, I went to the Case/IH dealer and tried for the better part of a week to get a salesman to call me back. Finally gave up, went an bought a new Bush Hog brand. Cant remember the exact #, although it is just down the road and I an get it for you. I really like it. It is plenty heavy. I got a bucket and bale spike. They installed the brackets and set it up. It was a little less than $6,000. $5,800 I think.
This included a joy stick as I only had the one set of hydraulics. This is my only regret, that I dont have two sets.

Let me know if you want the model number,

Gene
