TWheat: What you have there is an American built 340. The torque tube is too heavy for a 240. A 460 torque tube would be the same as in your photo, but I don't think I see 6 cylinders.

The sheet metal is definitely 40-60 series, totally American built.

Sorry, that tractor is not British build. The front axle and front of the trans housing looks totaly unfamiliar. It could have come from one of the factories in Europe if it is"nt American build.

They say there used to be a large sign over the Lucas Electric timeclock in the factory in England. It read, "An honest days work and home before dark." With Lucas electrical components in one's auto, I can understand the "home before dark" part of that slogan. mike durhan
