230 or 240 Farmall

Going to an auction end ot the month in Balt. County MD. Has six Farmalls nine other makes. Looking at 230 or 240. Was wondering what you all throught of them.

Both are fine little tractors, but I prefer the 230. The seat and cotrols are all above the deck and mount from rear. The 240 sits straddle the rear end and you mount from the side.I suppose you will need to make your choice according to which style you like the best. They are basicly the same tractor, just configured a bit different.Both use the same engine C-123 and use the same tires.

The 230 is a newer versionof the Super C. Nice little tractor and will do a lot for its size. Don't know much about the 240 but always liked th e looks of the tricycle style. Know a farmer near here who years ag used his 240 or 340 (can't remember which)to grind feed with a mixer-mill in the winter. Only IH he had and he didn,t want to start his diesel JD'S for that job./
