Assuming she all wired up correct BEFORE you start it momentarily use a lil wire jumper etc. to flash/jump from the Voltage Regulators BAT terminal over to its ARM/GEN terminal n you oughta get a lil spark.

If the VR's ARM/GEN terminal is hard to get at without accidentally shorting out, jump a wire from the VR BAT terminal direct to the Gennys ARM post.

On tractors with a 2 wire Cutout relay versus a 3 or 4 terminal VR, same thing basically, jump BAT terminal over to ARM/GEN or else the gennys ARM post itself.

If you cant easily get to a VR or Cutout relay,
jump any hot ungrounded battery wire (like say on a starter switch/solenoid input) direct to the Gennsy ARM post n get the spark.

I sometimes say to first dead ground the gennys FLD post but thats usually NOT necessary.

I miss anything??

With the tractor not running, and the battery charged and hooked up, Use a 10" length of solid copper house wire with the ends stripped 1/2". Use the wire to jump between the regulator Bat or B terminal, and the Gen or Arm terminal. This will spark a little. That is it.

The field wire must be hooked up to the reg, and the reg must be grounded (as it should be. JimN
